Refugee Food Festival
Backed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Refugee Food Festival is a citizen initiative touring event developed by the Food Sweet Food association. The objective is three-fold: to foster a change in public perception of the welcoming and status of refugees, to step up the socio-professional integration of refugee chefs thanks to the commitment of caterers such as Elior Group and to bring together all members of civil society around the dining table, the universal symbol of peace and equality.
Mercy Chefs supplies meals to victims of natural catastrophes (hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, etc.). Created in 2006 in the US, the association has served nearly 2 million meals to disaster victims. Elior Group Solidarities participates in financing this community kitchen to help victims.
City Angels helps the most destitute: the homeless, refugees, drug addicts, victims of crime, etc. With three reception centers in Milan (Italy) and nearly 500 places, its mission is to help people in need by providing blankets, clothing, food and beverages. Elior Group Solidarities is participating in the acquisition of a van for distributing food and clothing to the homeless.
Aliante società cooperativa sociale
Aliante società cooperativa sociale promotes well-being, solidarity, integration and acceptance. The Italian association supports families in difficulty by helping them to become aware of their lifestyle with regard to their eating habits, and fosters reflection on how they can improve their health by changing their eating habits. Elior Group Solidarities supports the implementation of workshops to raise awareness to different types of diet, the fight against food waste, and the organization of cookery workshops to teach children and adolescents to cook with fresh produce.
Asega (Association solidaire des étudiants en gestion associative) and the associative community of Université Paris Nanterre (France) support actions related to solidarity, the environment, health, culture, integration, education, and humanitarian causes. Elior Group Solidarities supports AGORAé, a solidarity grocery project which offers students in need low-cost, quality food produce, and serves as a place that raises student awareness to the importance of adopting a healthy and durable lifestyle.
Le Chaînon Manquant
Le Chaînon Manquant redistributes unsold and surplus produce of food professionals to French social players who provide aid to those in the most need. Every day, the association collects fresh food produce that is still consumable and in perfection condition from professionals in the food industry and immediately redistributes it to maintain the continuous cold chain. As such, Le Chaînon Manquant provides an innovative, social and environmental answer in terms of the fight against waste and food insecurity. Elior Group Solidarities supports the implantation of the association in Lyon.
