From international to regional

As gateways to a region or a country, airports are now aiming to reinforce their identity. In US airports, large national brands share space with more original offerings. Areas has gained momentum in this market by creating partnerships with strong regional brands. In Detroit, Areas opened the Mezza Mediterranean Grill restaurant, named after a local brand which already has five restaurants in the metropolitan area. In Los Angeles, its most recent restaurant called "Engine C ° N ° 28" gets its design and recipe inspiration from the eponymous tavern established in a former firehouse in the city.

Areas has also implemented this winning strategy in Spain. A number of restaurants in Madrid Barajas airport were born out of regional partnerships that range from the genuine artisan sandwich from Santa Gloria or Rodilla to the sophisticated restaurant with gourmet-bar like Fly&Fishhh!, Kirei by Kabuki or La Mary.

In Italy, MyChef launched a first Caffè Roma Capitale, a new high-end concept created through an exclusive agreement with the City of Rome and inspired by the stylish Caffè Milano located in Milan Malpensa airport, in partnership with the City of Milan.

I Love Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle

Gourmet restaurants headed by world-famous chefs are becoming increasingly widespread in international air hubs and represent an asset for the airports’ image and a real value added for travelers in transit. Through its collaboration with chefs Guy Martin or Paco Roncero, Areas is at the heart of this trend. The Michelangelo Restaurant, opened by MyChef, with its pleasing decor, its large bay windows directly overlooking the runways and its open kitchen, is designed to satisfy Ancreeven the most demanding travelers at the Milan Linate airport. A recent opening, I Love Paris, a tribute to the French capital and gastronomy, developed in collaboration with chef Guy Martin and architect India Mahdavi, is located in terminal 2E of the Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.
